Information for the 2024 Campaign
POSITION: Intern
STATUS: Unpaid, Part Time/Hybrid
REPORTS TO: County Campaign Manager and Executive Director
Morris County Democratic Committee (MCDC) is the official Democratic Party Organization covering Morris County. The County Committee works to increase the Democratic Party’s representation among all elected offices throughout Morris County for all levels of government. The county’s operations strive to make running for office accessible, build a robust support system for effective campaigns, increase confidence in democracy and our Democratic Party, and win elections.
We are always seeking passionate and curious young professionals who want to immerse themselves in NJ Democratic Politics and learn how to lead and organize.
Our interns will learn the skills and tools to run campaigns for every level of office. Interns will be given opportunities to network and learn from elected officials, candidates, activists, advocates, volunteers, and professionals that work to make Morris County a better place to live.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will vary based on the applicant's experience and time commitment. All interns will be required to dedicate time to voter contact efforts. Other duties may include managing social media for various campaigns, partake in phone/text banking and door-to-door canvassing, recruiting, training, and managing volunteers, coordinating voter outreach efforts, helping plan and organize events, and learning and managing election campaign application tools and software.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an entry-level position, and no experience is required. What is needed is access to transportation, a consistent schedule, and enthusiasm to learn.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
This is an unpaid part-time position with a hybrid work structure based in Morristown, NJ, and remotely. Travel throughout the County is necessary, so access to transportation is necessary.
