Candidate Bio
Christine Clarke is an environmental advocate, grassroots organizer and mother-of-four running for State Senate to build the clean energy economy, improve healthcare, protect clean air and water, and lead with empathy and fiscal common sense.
Clarke has been working on fighting climate impacts for years. She is a Climate Reality Leader, a steering committee member of the Jersey Renews coalition, and a member of the NJ NAACP Environment and Climate Justice team via Morristown Local 2092. She was on the 2018 steering committees for the NJ March for Science and the NJ People’s Climate Movement. She was named to Senator Menendez’s Environment and Science Council during his re-election campaign in 2018. She is the former Environmental Director at Action Together New Jersey, and was an early organizer with NJ 11th For Change. She is serving a second term as the elected municipal chair of the Jefferson Township Democratic Committee, and is the organizer of her townβs annual bipartisan Pride event. She has lived in Jefferson for 17 years with her husband and four children.
Christine has organized grassroots calls to action, free public educational forums and live streamed events bringing people together around renewable energy and environmental conservation. She ran for office to build on that work by advancing policies that create jobs, fight pollution and build a clean energy future. She was proud to champion the peer-to-peer work to advance campaign funds for childcare during and after her prior race, and will continue to support family-friendly legislation in both her professional and personal capacities.
